Our team is growing! With an ever-increasing demand for our services, we have welcomed two new child psychologists to our clinics in Sydney and Wollongong.

Dr Brigid O’Leary

Dr Brigid O’Leary is a highly experienced Child and Educational Psychologist who is currently undertaking a Transition Program for professionals trained overseas. She has training and experience in a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused approaches and Narrative Therapy.

She also has substantial experience assessing and understanding learning needs, including using standardised assessments such as WISC-V, WPPSI-IV and WIAT-III.

In London, Brigid supported children and young people aged 0 to 25 with a wide range of needs ranging from language and communication to social, emotional and mental health to cognition and learning. She also developed and delivered training to school professionals and parents, as well as small group interventions for children and young people. She has recently contributed to the development of a new program training mental health leads in schools in the UK.

We’re thrilled to welcome Brigid to our clinical team in Sydney where we have no doubt her young clients will benefit from her expertise.

Chelsie Priestley

Chelsie Priestley has joined Quirky Kid as a Provisional Psychologist at both our Sydney and Wollongong clinics. She is passionate about supporting children and adolescents to overcome challenges and become their best selves.

Having previously worked as an Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) therapist, Chelsie has extensive experience working with children presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She has also worked as a disability support worker, assisting children and adolescents to do the things they love out in the community, such as attending gymnastics classes. Supported by a government scholarship, Chelsie previously lived in Cambodia where she completed an internship with Hagar International working with children experiencing trauma.

Chelsie has received training in the administration, scoring and interpretation of psychometric assessments. She provides high-quality, evidence-based, client-focused psychological services to support clients and their families to achieve their goals. She loves arts and crafts and enjoys getting creative in her sessions.

Chelsie will be a wonderful addition to the Quirky Kid team and we’re so pleased to have her on board.
