Quirky Kid was selected for the 2019 Middle East & Africa EdTech Bootcamp in Dubai, joining Australian education companies exploring opportunities in the UAE.
The program ran from 2 to 6 March 2019 and was delivered with Austrade, EduGrowth and Dubai Future Accelerators.
EduGrowth’s official program record describes a 4.5-day program combining workshops, pitching, market briefings and meetings with public and private sector organisations.
Taking Quirky Kid’s education work into the UAE
Quirky Kid used the bootcamp to present its emerging digital work alongside programs including The Best of Friends®, Basecamp® and Power Up!.
The program covered the UAE education market, partnership models, intellectual property, financing and regional opportunities across the Middle East and Africa.
Connecting with education and innovation organisations
The official program involved Dubai Future Accelerators, Austrade, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority and GEMSX, with positive education and wellbeing listed among the areas of interest.
That focus aligned closely with Quirky Kid’s work across child psychology, social and emotional learning, publishing and digital mental health.
Part of a wider international growth period
The Dubai bootcamp followed Quirky Kid’s participation in the 2019 International Bootcamp India.
