Quirky Kid was selected for the 2019 International Bootcamp India, joining a cohort of NSW entrepreneurs for a ten-day immersion in one of the world’s fastest-growing startup ecosystems.

The program gave participating organisations the opportunity to learn directly from Indian entrepreneurs, businesses and innovation organisations while testing how Australian products and services might translate into an international market.

For Quirky Kid, the bootcamp created a platform to present its emerging digital work alongside its psychologist-developed social and emotional learning programs.

Exploring international opportunities

The immersion included activity across major Indian innovation centres, with a focus on market understanding, business development, entrepreneurship and international growth.

Quirky Kid used the opportunity to explore how its combination of child psychology, education, publishing and digital support could connect with schools, families and organisations outside Australia.

The Sydney School of Entrepreneurship’s history records the International Bootcamp India in 2019 as part of its international entrepreneurship program.

Part of a broader international growth period

The India program came during a period when Quirky Kid was actively testing international pathways for its psychology and education work.

The organisation was already participating in international publishing fairs and education initiatives, while also developing BriteChild and expanding the reach of programs such as The Best of Friends®.

Later in 2019, Quirky Kid also participated in an Austrade-linked education technology bootcamp in Dubai, extending this period of international market learning.

Why the bootcamp mattered

For a small Australian psychology organisation, international immersion provided more than promotional exposure. It offered firsthand insight into different education systems, customer needs, partnership models and the practical challenges of taking Australian-developed services and resources into new markets.

The India bootcamp remains an important milestone in Quirky Kid’s international development and its effort to build scalable models for supporting children and families beyond Australia.
