Provisional Psychologist

Virginia Galindo is a warm, intuitive Provisional Psychologist. She supports children and adolescents facing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and big feelings. Virginia provides trauma-informed and developmentally attuned care. She has experience supporting children who feel anxious or easily overwhelmed, helping them understand their emotions, build confidence, and feel more in control. Her evidence-based work integrates art and play therapy, helping children express what they may not have words for. She knows children communicate through behaviour, play, and body, and gently supports them to understand their inner world. Sessions are creative, engaging, and comfortably paced. Her work includes mindfulness and relational approaches that support emotional regulation, resilience, and safety.

Beyond therapy, Virginia has developed and led mental health programs in Australia and Mexico. She delivered empowerment-based programs for adolescent girls in Sydney. She is the author of therapeutic books and emotional literacy resources to help children feel understood, build confidence, and navigate emotions.

Qualifications

Virginia holds advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy for children and adolescents, with a specialisation in art and play-based approaches. Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of child development, attachment, and emotional processes.

Originally trained in Mexico, she brings a culturally sensitive and relational approach to working with families from diverse backgrounds. She works closely with parents, helping them understand their child's inner world, strengthen their connection, and feel more confident in supporting their child at home.

Virginia is under the supervision of Psychologist Bridget Tegg and Dr Kimberley O’Brien.

Virginia consults on every Tuesday Friday Thursday at the Sydney clinic or online
