Quirky Kid became a registered provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, adding another pathway for eligible children and families to access therapeutic supports.
The milestone allowed Quirky Kid to work with NDIS participants where psychology services aligned with a participant’s plan, goals, funding arrangements and clinical needs.
The NDIS was established to give people with permanent and significant disability greater choice and control over the supports they receive. For Quirky Kid, registration meant its child and family psychology services could form part of that broader support system where appropriate.
Extending access to therapeutic supports
Quirky Kid’s registered-provider status added to the clinic’s existing pathways for psychological support, assessments and intervention.
Public NDIS provider records later listed Quirky Kid under Therapeutic Supports, including its Austinmer service location. The clinic’s current website also continues to identify Quirky Kid as an NDIS registered provider.
Registration does not mean every service, clinician or appointment is automatically claimable through the NDIS. Access depends on the participant’s individual plan, goals, funding management and whether the requested service is clinically and administratively appropriate.
Why the milestone mattered
For families already navigating disability, developmental concerns and multiple service systems, having access to registered providers can reduce some of the complexity involved in coordinating care.
For Quirky Kid, NDIS registration also reflected the clinic’s broader development as a child and family psychology service working across therapy, developmental assessment, parent support and structured programs.
