We are proud to announce we are the winners of the 2018 Educational Learning Resources Award at the London Book Fair International Excellence Awards, for our anxiety program Basecamp®.
The awards held in partnership with the UK Publishers Association (PA), celebrate excellence in seventeen categories, including international publishing, bookselling, academic and scholarly publishing, children’s publishing, literary translation and digital innovation. In each award category, the judging panel was comprised of experts in that sector.
Anxiety disorders are some of the most common psychological disorders in children and adolescents. This award continues to emphasise the importance of an Educational Initiative like Basecamp, that teaches children effective anxiety management strategies.
Overnight we received some amazing news! Basecamp® - our new anxiety program - was shortlisted for two (yep that's right, two) international Awards at the London Book Fair International Excellence Awards 2018.

Basecamp® was shortlisted for:
- The Educational Initiatives Award (for organisations which have produced an innovative and exciting new initiative that increases education provision and effectiveness, and wider access to learning), and
- The Educational Learning Resources Award supported by The China Publishing & Media Journal.
About Basecamp
BaseCamp® is an innovative anxiety program for children aged 7 to 12 years. Developed by the Quirky Kid team, BaseCamp® draws on decades of experience, combining a sound theoretical cognitive-behavioural approach with effective, engaging and child-centred activities to overcome anxiety.
BaseCamp® is based in a fictional Australian National Park and with the support of the Park Rangers, participants are invited to let go of excess baggage as they make their way into the wilderness. Together they tackle the task of rehabilitating the occupants of an Animal Sanctuary by putting an end to avoidance. Afterall, facing your fears is empowering when you know how!

About The Awards
This is not the first time Quirky Kid® has been shortlisted for the International Excellence Awards. In 2016 The Best of Friends® and Power Up were also shortlisted for awards in London. Since then, The Best of Friends® has been used in a variety of schools and clinics in Australia and Power Up has been sold to over 500 users in 12 countries. See SMH Article.
