The Quirky Kid Clinic is seeking a Senior Child Psychologist for a three-day-a-week role based in beautiful Austinmer. As a unique developmental psychology practice, this position is ideal for an experienced clinician seeking the perfect balance between direct client work and professional leadership. You will provide advanced assessment and intervention, supervise junior clinicians, and play a vital role in clinical governance and growth.

About the Role

As a Senior Child Psychologist, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments: Perform developmental and diagnostic evaluations for autism, ADHD, learning disorders, mood/anxiety, and complex comorbidities.
  • Utilise advanced tools: Administer and interpret tools including WISC-V, WIAT-III, ADOS-2, Conners-4, CBCL, and various adaptive/executive function measures.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions: Utilise CBT, ACT, Play Therapy, Family Systems approaches, and parent-focused work.
  • Provide clinical leadership: Supervise and mentor psychologists and provisional psychologists, leading reflective practice and case reviews.
  • Ensure clinical governance: Lead risk assessment, safeguarding, and incident reviews while contributing to policy and continuous quality improvement.
  • Drive innovation: Support program development, evaluation, and knowledge translation initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience working as a Psychologist in a paediatric setting.
  • Minimum 3+ years post-registration paediatric clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in paediatric assessment batteries and complex case formulation.
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and high-level report writing skills.

Desirable:

  • Educational & Developmental or Clinical Psychology endorsement with full AHPRA registration.
  • Experience in clinical governance, research/evaluation, or group program delivery.
  • Familiarity navigating Medicare, the NDIS, and private practice settings.
