Susanne Litts is a Registered Psychologist at the Quirky Kid Clinic in Sydney. She provides highly specialised assessments, formulations and treatments to children aged birth to 18 years and their families.
Susanne received formal training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychometric assessments as well as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). She has also completed training in Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing and Compassion-Focused Therapy for children and young people.
She worked as a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology at NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the UK for six years. She was trained in evidence-based interventions to support common mental health presentations in children and young people and received accreditation in parenting programs such as Incredible Years, Triple P and Mellow Parenting.
In her role with the NHS, Susanne worked with a wide range of presentations in clients aged six to 16, including anxiety, low mood, emotion regulation, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and comorbid ASD and anxiety/low mood. She also supported and trained other staff and received training in supervising other practitioners in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Susanne has contributed to the application and evaluation of applied research, including an NHS-funded project supporting the rollout of an early intervention CBT-informed anxiety management protocol. She has also developed and run several group-based interventions, such as stress-control workshops for parents and groups for teenagers experiencing low mood. Susanne has developed and delivered training for teachers on ASD and classroom issues, and delivered workshops for parents to facilitate their understanding of ASD, communication and behaviour.
Following completion of her Bachelor’s Degree degree in Psychology at the University of St Andrews (UK), Susanne went on to complete both a Master of Science in Psychological Research and a Master of Science in Applied Psychology (Health) with Children and Young People at the University of Edinburgh.
