As a result, we are seeking a mental health clinician (Counsellor, Social Worker, Art Therapist, Mental Health Nursing, Developmental Educator) who shares Quirky Kid’s passion for working with children – Together, amazing things happen.|
We’re looking for colleagues who love working with children and engaging confidently with parents to join our relaxed, welcoming and well-resourced clinic in Sydney (Woollahra). In this role, you will be comfortable providing Therapy Supports intervention to client load who are NDIS participants.
Quirky Kid is a NDIS registered organisation.
Your role:
To combine your love of working with children and your exceptional clinical skills. You role will involve a mix of assessments, report writing and consultations for a maximum of six clients per day.
To evaluate, assess and design interventions. Together with the clinical team, assess and potentially diagnose mental health presentations.
To produce reports of the highest standard for parents and educators to help guide our clinical intervention.
Formulate treatment plans for complex clients and Deliver evidence-based treatments and best practice standards in the clinic or online as required
To delight your clients with your attention to detail and commitment to achieving therapeutic goals using effective evidence-based interventions, incorporating art and play, where possible.
To advocate for children and families at school-based case conferences, if required.
To deliver our award-winning workshops and programs for children.
To work within the structure of billable hours to ensure consultations, school observations, case conferences, test administration and reports are complete within reasonable timeframes.
To provide peer supervision and support to peers as required.
Benefits and Remuneration package:
Contractor role with hourly rate of $49.28 – $51.51 per hour per hour (based on meeting position criteria), plus
QK perks, including Wellbeing Allowance, Beverage Allowance and Professional Development budget.
Professional development reimbursement of $500 at 12 month of service

Your Qualifications & Experience:
Two years+ experience working with children in diverse settings, such as paediatric mental health and/or an educational context.
Experience workimg with NDIS participants.
Ability to work effectively both as a team member and as a practitioner with minimal supervision
Eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body.
Social Workers - Full membership with AASW. Psychologists, mental health nurses, and occupational therapists are required to have full registration with AHPRA
Art Therapist – A person who is a Professional Member with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA)
Counsellor - A member of the Australian Counselling Association or an accredited Registrant with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
Developmental Educator – A person who is a Full Member of Developmental Educators Australia Inc.
Your Qualities:
Able to develop rapport with children, adolescents and parents.
Calm, creative, flexible, open, stylish and punctual.
Available to to work 2 days per week (9:30-6pm).
Comfortable with commitment and a desire to establish a long-term, loyal client base amongst a caring team of colleagues.
